Supervisory experience plus a minimum of 3+ years hands-on maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, appliances etc. HVAC experience and EPA certification required. |

Performs routine building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating and air conditioning and assists other Maintenance Techs & Maintenance Supervisor with preventive maintenance programs. Minimum of 2+ years hands-on experienced in basic appliance, plumbing & electrical repair. Repair of HVAC - only as allowed by law without EPA certification, general carpentry. Working knowledge of roof and gutters inspections & repair and the use of basic cleaning supplies and equipment. Excellent communication and customer service skills are required. |

Location: Washington , DC E&G Property Services is seeking a motivated, reliable, and experienced maintenance technician/building engineer for a 47 unit multi-family residential building in Northeast DC. This site is owned by a small social services non-profit client whose offices also operate from the building. You will be the sole engineer at this site, three days per week. Two days per week you will be providing support at our other District rental and cooperative properties.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Must be able to work in close coordination with the property manger to complete resident unit work tickets and turn vacated units as efficiently and promptly as possible.
• Ability to perform minor electrical repairs, basic carpentry and appliance repairs to units and client spaces.
• Basic plumbing repairs/replacement skills such as snaking, changing out faucets, changing faucet aerators and washers, etc.
• Replace locks/locksets
• Window A/C unit repairs
• Mowing, watering of small lawn - general upkeep
• Snow removal
• Provide oversight and interact with contracted service and preventative maintenance vendors such as elevator, fire suppression, generator, boiler, and plumbing vendors
• Foster positive relations with client and be a role model to residents at all times.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Property Manager
• Must be available for 24 hours on call emergency maintenance.
Qualifications /Must Have’s:
• Valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation and proof of insurance.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English at the high school level and comprehend operations and maintenance documents
• Own tools and provide proof of such
• Able to meet all physical requirements normally expected of this type of position
• Able to pass criminal background test and credit check prior to hiring
Work Hours: 40 hours per week, M-F. On-call for emergencies.
